Trident Freight Gibraltar recommend the following tips for packing your personal goods prior to the transport of your goods to Gibraltar.

Returning Student or relocating family to Gibraltar

Whether your a student returning to Gibraltar or a relocating family, the first step is to ensure that you are packaging your items correctly. This will ensure safe and intact transportation to Gibraltar.

‘Properly packed for export’ What does it mean?

At Trident Freight, we always confirm prior to providing our freight/transport service to Gibraltar to have your goods ‘properly packed for export’ prior to our collection or to delivery to one of our depots. In order to do so, we recommend following the following tips:-

1. Use good quality packing materials: Ensure you use good quality boxes and materials to protect your goods.
2. Protection is ‘key‘: Make sure your put smaller goods in larger boxes with packaging in between and if you can, use bubble wrap around fragile items and packing paper for other items.
3. Labelling: Labelling your boxes is essential. If a box contains fragile items make sure the box is marked as ‘fragile’. Ensure your contact details- name and address are visible on each box. We also recommend you label the boxes in accordance with personal declaration list submitted for transport.
4. Double sealing: Double seal your boxes with special packing tape/masking tape to avoid dents and avoid causing damage to the contents of your box,
5. Fill your boxes correctly: Don’t try and overstuff your boxes with goods making them too heavy as this will make boxes awkward to collect, and could mean extra collection charges if more personnel is required for the job.
6. Restricted items: Make sure you do your research to find out any applicable customs import duties at destination Gibraltar before doing your final packing. Also ensure you do not pack restricted or hazardous (flammable) items as these may be removed prior to transport or may be confiscated by authorities.

Lastly Happy Packing! We look forward to collecting/receiving your goods for onward transport to Gibraltar. We will take care of the rest.
